
AmaPeru
is a non-profit organization whose principal
mission is to provide and promote medical
assistance to the people of Peru. This
organization was created in 1990 by a group of
physicians residing in the Washington, DC
metropolitan area.
Since its inception this organization has
regularly contributed in the form of medical
equipment that has been sent to various hospitals in
Peru, including x-ray machines, incubators,
wheel chairs, medical instruments, surgical
equipment and medicine and monetary help.
Contributions have also included volunteering
the medical/surgical expertise of its members in
medical missions to various cities in Peru, were
they personally provided medical/surgical
consultations, operations and participated in
lectures, workshops and seminars.
There are absolutely no administrative expenses
except for mailing or other minor office needs.
There are no salaries, stipends or any other
compensation to any of its members. Those
members who participate in missions,
conferences, lectures or any other assistance to
the Peruvian people do it on their own time and
they pay their own expenses.
